BAG OF BEANS: Something Good is Brewing in Tagaytay

Image
(pls. click on picture for larger view) After a filling meal at Balinsasayaw in Silang, Cavite (previous post) , girlfriends and I decided to continue our afternoon rendezvous at one of the highly recommended foodie and coffee-lover locations in Tagaytay, one whose name has gained an increasing following already. Hence, our biyahera feet took us to BAG OF BEANS for some delicious afternoon coffee, more girly talks and not to mention, more posing for the pics! Bloc 62 forever! :) Yup, we're as satiated as self-indulgent wild felines after our hefty lunch, but the eagerness for new experience and of course, for quality time in the company each other, kept us going. This time around we did not encounter any trouble in finding our destination,it being located just along Aguinaldo Highway (Mendez crossing West). Plus, it was easy to spot the "Bag of Beans" signage. The facade of this coffee shop gave me the impression that it's just a typical, small and simple coffee sho

The author, biyahera, with her college girlfriends(just before gorging their lunch) Ang Muling Pagkikita--Where to Eat? That morning my college girlfriends (blocmates) decided to meet for lunch, we came to the inevitable part when we are stumped with the question of where to dine. All we know is that we'd like to have it in Tagaytay, or somewhere near Tagaytay, so that there is still that feel of being in a weekend get-away. Eden--our pretty and exceptional driver--was the first to suggest BALINSASAYAW , as per the recommendation of her "friend" :). Balinsasayaw @ Silang, Cavite (pls. click pictures for larger view) "Di ba sa Palawan yan?" was our instant reaction. Little did we know (or perhaps I know very little about Cavite hehe) that there really is a Balinsasayaw in Silang, Cavite situated just along the roadside of the national highway. Hence, we, five exc

Afternoon in Bagasbas Beach--Photos courtesy of Cheekay T. Bagasbas Beach is a popular hang-out destination in Daet, Camarines Norte. Locals flock to Bagasbas to swim, surf, skim surf, play volleyball, or simply, to relax and let time pass by while enjoying the seaside ambiance. Many visitors can't resist to drop-by at this place also. Of late, however, Bagasbas started to become famous in the surfing scene. The beach faces the Pacific Ocean, which explains for its powerful waves and swells ideal for surfing. Swells can range between 3 to 6 feet, but can go as high as 8 feet on certain days. I reckon it's good for beginners, although we've seen seemingly experienced surfers enjoying the waves too. I've learned that Bagasbas waves are of the beach-break type with short to normal length. I'm not exactly a surfer and am yet to give it a try hehe, so for more surfing info about Bagasbas, just please check out this website I discovvered: wannaSurf Beginners and professio
